How I Snuck Poppy into a Historical Society

At the beginning of summer, I joined my library's summer reading program. My prize was a ticket to a historical society. My mom and my grandparents started planning a huge trip to spend half a day there. It made me nervous, because I don't like crowded places, but It really wasn't that bad.
As the day of the trip approached, I kept asking mom if Poppy could come with. "She's under 5 years old, we wouldn't even need to pay for her to come in!" I kept trying to reason with Mom. She kept saying thing like, "We'll see," or, "I'll think about it." Finally she told me why She didn't want poppy going with. She was afraid she would jump out of her designated "Poppy's Adventure Bag" bag, and someone would step on her or freak out. I was torn into two pieces, keep Poppy safe or give her an adventure. A few minutes before we left, I grabbed Poppy out of her cage and proudly announced to Mom, "She's going with!" She rode on my shoulder the whole way to my grandparent's house. When I stepped out of the truck, everyone rushed to greet me. My grandma asked us in a surprised tone if she was coming with. I told her Poppy would stay in her bag most of the time.
The historical society looked a lot different, a tornado had ripped out a lot of trees two summers ago. It was very sad, the parking lot used to just consist of dirt and trees. Now it's just dirt, I was disappointed, even though it made me considerably less nervous.
Well, the whole scheme went of without a hitch, except one boy was swatting flies, and kept hitting my bag by accident. He didn't even apologize! If I hit someone's bag while swatting flies, Poppy inside or not, I would apologize! I don't think he realised it though, so it's ok. Poppy also started moving on the tram, which made me really nervous, like she was gonna jump off the tram. I kept her bag closed, with just enough opening for her to get fresh air without getting all the dust the tram kicked up in her face. Whenever we sat down, I'd let her poke her head out of the bag to say "Hi" and get some fresh air and a lot of petting from me. Later today I might post about some of the things we saw at the historical society, and less about Poppy.

How I Snuck my Bearded Dragon into the Grocery Store

Today I came across a dilemma: Stay at home with my bearded dragon or go to the grocery store.
I chose both.
I made a very elaborate plan:
  1. Put on a pullover hoodie.
  2. Put Poppy in the pocket.
  3. Go to the grocery store.
  4. Do some shopping.
  5. Leave the grocery store.
  6. Come home.
But it worked out more like this:
  1. Put Poppy in the pocket of my bag.
  2. Repeat 3-5.
  3. Go to get Poppy wax worms.
  4. Put Poppy back in my bag.
  5. Go to a convenience store.
  6. Go home.
All in all, my plan was foolproof.
Peace out, y'all. Maybe.
